Croom Medical, a leader in precision manufacturing for orthopedic implants, is pleased to announce its participation at OMTEC 2026, the Orthopaedic Manufacturing and Technology Exposition and Conference, taking place June 9–11, 2026 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois.
Recognised as the premier event for the orthopedic manufacturing community, OMTEC brings together over 1,500 attendees and more than 200 exhibitors each year. Croom Medical will exhibit at Booth #700, where attendees can meet the team, explore our manufacturing capabilities, and speak directly with our engineers about current and future programmes.
This year marks a significant moment for Croom Medical. The company recently broke ground on ACOT, a new 38,000 sq ft Advanced Centre of Orthopaedic Technologies at its Croom campus, the largest single investment in its 42-year history. The facility will bring the full spectrum of orthopedic manufacturing under one roof, from raw material to finished implant, and is due for completion by the end of 2026. Croom Medical has tripled in size since 2021 and continues to expand its capacity to support OEM partners across the US and globally.

Attend our in-booth education session
Dr. Shane Keaveney, R&D Manager at Croom Medical, has been selected to deliver an in-booth presentation titled “Can Titanium Replace Cobalt Chrome? A HIP Nitriding Breakthrough.” The session takes place on Wednesday, June 10 from 10:50 AM to 11:05 AM at Booth #700.
The presentation shares findings from a research collaboration between Croom Medical, Quintus Technologies AB, and Uppsala University. The team investigated whether protective titanium nitride (TiN) surface layers can be formed during the Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP) cycle itself. Results showed that nitrogen-enhanced HIP cycles roughly doubled titanium’s hardness and produced minimal measurable wear in pin-on-disc testing, with no delamination. Dr. Keaveney holds a Ph.D. in kinematic error modelling, a patent for a 3D-printed biomaterial, and lectures in materials science at Maynooth University.
TALOS™ tantalum 3D-printing
Croom Medical will also be showcasing its TALOS™ tantalum 3D-printing platform, alongside Global Advanced Metals (GAM), at Booth #700. Attendees can learn more about the latest developments in tantalum additive manufacturing for orthopaedic implant applications.
