The award ceremony, organised by the Irish Medtech Association, Enterprise Ireland and IDA Ireland, took place on 7 December, recognising the excellence and innovation of the Irish Medtech sector.
Founded in 1984 in Co. Limerick, Croom Medical has grown to become a trusted partner for numerous blue-chip Medtech OEMs, helping them to increase their production capacity, improve product quality, and reduce manufacturing costs. The company is also at the forefront of additive manufacturing, investing heavily in a skilled team, state-of-the-art facilities, and advanced technologies to enable highly customised and efficient production of orthopedic implants.
Since 2019, Croom Medical has experienced rapid growth, expanding its team from 45 people in 2021 to an impressive 170 in 2023, and investing €12M to enhance its manufacturing capabilities. Most recently, Croom Medical’s R&D team achieved a significant milestone with the release of its first Titanium and Tantalum-based orthopedic implant prototype. This groundbreaking development positions the company at the forefront of orthopedics manufacturing globally, promising lightweight, high-performance implants designed to enhance patient outcomes and bolster market competitiveness.
