CNC machining forms part of Croom Medical’s wider prototyping and development capability.
Croom Medical continues to invest in the people and technologies behind its R&D capability, connecting 3D scanning, polymer prototyping, metal additive manufacturing and precision machining.
Our R&D team works across FDM, SLA and SLS printing alongside metal additive manufacturing and CNC machining. This range of processes gives engineers different ways to explore geometry, produce prototypes and refine an idea before committing to a production route.
The development question determines the approach. A physical model for design evaluation, a prototype for agreed testing and a component intended for repeat manufacture can call for different materials, processes and evidence. Bringing those discussions together early helps the team plan the next stage of work.
Our prototyping capability supports OEM customers evaluating and developing new ideas, while our manufacturing experience keeps attention on how the design could progress into production. Engineers can use each iteration to review the design, identify manufacturing questions and agree what to investigate next.
The purpose of continued investment is practical: give our people more ways to solve difficult engineering problems and give customers a clearer route through development.
