Croom Medical congratulates Dr Sean McConnell, Engineering & NPI Manager, on completing a Doctorate of Engineering at the University of Limerick.
Drawing on a decade of experience in additive manufacturing, Sean’s research examines how changes in layer thickness can improve laser powder bed fusion productivity while maintaining process reliability and the material performance of Ti-6Al-4V.
The work connects academic investigation with the practical demands of developing and scaling metal additive manufacturing. It strengthens the depth of engineering expertise available as Croom supports customers through new product introduction and manufacturing development.
Croom Medical supported Sean’s doctorate alongside Renishaw Additive Manufacturing and Apex Additive Technologies. We thank his supervisors, Associate Professor Kyriakos Kourousis and Professor David Tanner, for their guidance.
Congratulations, Sean, on a significant personal and professional achievement.
